What Una is

One place for the practical side of getting older.

We're building Una in three parts. The first is already here, and early members shape the other two.

01

Guides

Here now · free

Clear, carefully researched guides on pensions and benefits, health, everyday technology, home life, and family, specific to the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands. No jargon, no fearmongering, no ten-adverts-per-page.

02

Assistance

Coming · join the list

Sometimes you don't want a guide, you want a person. Assistance will pair you with real humans who can help with forms, appointments, technology headaches, and the errands that pile up.

03

Club

Coming · join the list

A members' community for people who want more from these decades: meetups, shared interests, and honest conversation with people at the same stage of life. Not a forum full of strangers; a club with a door.

A note from the founder

Why Una exists

Everything about getting older seems to be written for someone else: your doctor, your bank, your children. It's either clinical, or patronising, or trying to sell you a stairlift.

I started Una because the people I love deserved better information than I could find for them: what a benefit is actually worth, which phone setting stops the scam calls, how to talk about the things families put off talking about.

So that's what we're building. Guides first, because trust is earned in writing. Then real human assistance, and a proper club, because the practical stuff is only ever half of it.

Our promises

The small print, in large print.

Your privacy comes first

Your email is used for one thing: sending you Una. We never sell it, share it, or bury choices in settings.

Written by humans, checked properly

Guides are researched against official sources in the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands, and dated so you know they're current.

No jargon, no patronising

We write for intelligent adults. Plain English isn't dumbed down. It's the hardest kind of writing, and you deserve it.

You can always reach us

Una is run by people who answer their email. Questions, corrections, requests: write to us and a human replies.
